Making Ryerson Yonge

Welcome Ryerson students and staff, and everyone from the nearby downtown community.

We are Faculty of Arts students in SSH 502: Community Action Research, and we’ve been studying the history of Ryerson’s relation to downtown, thinking of the move onto Yonge soon with the new Student Learning Centre (i.e. library) on the site of the former Sam the Record Man.

Join us in the Credit Union Lounge (beside the Hub Cafeteria on first floor POD, 360 Victoria Street) on Monday, April 11, 2011, from 9:00am – 12:00pm.

Our class has researched the impact of Toronto’s downtown culture and subcultures from the perspective of Ryerson University’s move onto Yonge. Building and Circulation; The Main Artery of Yonge; The Body and its Control; Counterpublics and Print Culture; Homelessness; and Hanging Out at Sam the Record Man.

Start your Monday morning off by learning something new about your university and city!
